Christopher Peter Meloni, an American actor is best known as the lead actor in the popular television series 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. The first time he became interested in acting was at the time of his college years. He was a student of acting at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Though he has been active on both television and films but it was his character on the smaller screen that have earned him recognition and fan following. He has been able to seamlessly play characters from both sides of the legal system and draw the public's interest. The first production he did was a serial on television, but he later played the part of an NYPD detective. Because of his appearances on smaller screens, he has received several nominations for the most prestigious Emmy Awards as well as the PRISM Awards. One of his most striking facial features is thought to be his stunning blue eyes which are regarded to be a trademark and have aided in the portrayal of rough characters that have charisma. He was listed in People's magazine's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
